Privacy Policy

Why does Kuma have a Privacy Policy?

We have a Privacy Policy to keep you informed about how we protect the privacy of personal information we may collect, process, store or transfer when you visit our website.

Kuma’s policies exist to ensure that Kuma is transparent and that the individuals accessing the website have the knowledge of information that could potentially be collected. During your visit to the Kuma website, information that is not readily identifiable to an individual may be automatically collected and stored.

Public Disclosure

Kuma strives to protect personally identifiable information by collecting only information necessary to deliver our services. For instance, if personal information is requested or volunteered, company rules in compliance with applicable privacy regulations may protect it from disclosure. In the event of a conflict between this Privacy Policy and any applicable laws governing the disclosure or protection of information, the governing law will dictate the action to be taken by Kuma.

What type of information does Kuma collect?  How is it used?

If you check our website out by browsing and/or downloading information, we may automatically collect and store the following information about your visit:

  • The Internet Protocol (IP) address and domain name used, but not the email address. The IP address is a numerical identifier assigned either to your Internet Service Provider or directly to your computer that may include your country or state;
  • The type of browser and operating system you used and your connection speed;
  • The date and time you visited this site;
  • the web pages or services you accessed at this site;
  • and the location of the link you clicked to come to our site, if applicable.

We use this information to help us improve the content of our web services and to understand how you are using our service. Additionally, the data we collect helps us route web traffic and track down viruses and attacks against our site. Our website logs do not identify anyone personally, and we make no attempt to link them with information about you from other sites.

If, during your visit to the Kuma website, you participate in a survey or send an email through the contact form, the following additional information will be collected:

  • E-mail correspondence: The e-mail address and contents of the e-mail;
  • Surveys: Any information you volunteered in response to a survey.

The information collected may not be limited to text characters and may include any audio, video, and graphic information formats you send us. Kuma may use your email to respond to your message, to assist in obtaining information you have requested, to address issues you identify, to further improve our website, or to forward the email to another agency for appropriate action. Survey information will be used for the purpose designated.

What does Personal Information mean to Kuma?  How does Choice factor in?

“Personal information” is any information about an individual that is readily identifiable to that specific individual. Personal information may include personal identifiers such as an individual’s name, address, and phone number. A domain name or IP address is considered personal information.

We will not collect personal information about you unless you voluntarily participate in an activity that asks for information (i.e. sending an e-mail) or from your voluntary use of our website (i.e., clicking on a link).

You may choose to provide the company with additional personal information, such as sending an e-mail to a Kuma employee or by filling out and submitting an online form located on our website.

Access to and Correction of Personal Information

You can submit a written request to review any personal information we collect about you. You may recommend changes to your personal information if you believe there is an error by submitting a written request that credibly shows the error and providing your contact information. We will verify your identity prior to any changes to the personal information on record.  If you believe that your personal information is being used for a purpose other than what was intended when submitted, you may contact us. In all cases, we will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.

Cookies

We may place cookies (text files with small pieces of data) on your device when you visit our website.  These cookies may be used to collect the above mentioned information about how you access and use our website.  You may choose to block the usage of cookies in your browser or mobile device; however you may not be able to fully access our website if you do so.

Children’s Privacy

Kuma is a general audience site, and is not directed at and does not target children under the age of 13 years old.  If we obtain actual knowledge that any information we collect has been provided by a child under the age of 13, we will promptly dispose of that information.

California Privacy Rights

We do not share any personal information with third parties for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes. If this practice changes, you will be notified by prominent posting on our site.

If you are a California resident under the age of 18, and a registered user of any site where this policy is posted, California Business and Professions Code Section 22581 permits you to request and obtain removal of content or information you have publicly posted.  To make such a request, please send an email with a detailed description of the specific content or information to info@kuma.pro. Please be aware that such a request does not ensure complete or comprehensive removal of the content or information you have posted and that there may be circumstances in which the law does not require or allow removal even if requested.

Third-Party Links

Kuma may have links that lead to other websites. These may include links to websites operated by government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private business.  If you click on the link and are rerouted to another website, you are no longer on the Kuma website and this privacy policy will not apply.  When you link to another website, you are subject to the privacy policy of that new site, and Kuma is not responsible for actions taken outside of our own website.

International Visitors

We maintain and operate our sites on servers located in the United States. If you choose to use our sites from regions outside the United States that have laws governing data collection and use that differ from U.S. law, you acknowledge and agree that you are transferring personal information outside of that region to the United States and, by providing such information, you consent to the use of your personal data as identified in this privacy policy and the transfer of your personal data to the United States.

Business Transfers

We may sell, transfer, or otherwise share some or all of our assets, including the above mentioned personal information, in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, or in the event of bankruptcy. If this happens, you will be clearly notified by prominent posting on our site.

Privacy Policy Changes

Please check back every so often to review this privacy policy so you stay informed about our practices in relation to how we collect, process, store, transfer, and dispose of your personal information. Kuma may decide to amend the information privacy policy without advance notice. However, if we change our privacy policy in a way that is materially significant in reducing the privacy protections afforded to you, we will prominently post the change on our website.
