Meet Kuma at GPS 2019

Marrying Privacy Engineering & User Experience

Description: Product development inextricably requires good user experience for successful launch. Dr. Behrens will provide the context (and supporting artifacts) for how privacy engineering can positively impact design of user interfaces. Documents and process flows will be provided and reviewed in this interactive session. Attendees will learn how to apply the discipline of privacy engineering with the UI/UX teams through analyzing a variety of elements.

The Privacy Web Woven by Autonomous Vehicles

When? Friday, May 3, 3pm – 4pm

Description: Widespread development of autonomous vehicles is triggering significant privacy concerns about surveillance technology within the vehicle platforms. This public-private panel will deconstruct the complicated web of potential privacy harms to individuals and enterprises that arise within AV technology innovation and provide lessons-learned on utilizing a privacy risk management strategy to minimize the likelihood and impact of privacy harms with advancing technology. Panel members will also discuss how federal government agencies and private industry enterprises can successfully collaborate and share experiences, challenges and successes that ultimately benefit consumers and society in the context of increasingly connected data ecosystems.

Jenn Behrens brings in a strong privacy background. Before Kuma, Behrens served at the Chief Privacy Officer (CPO) of Verato. She has also worked with IAPP in the past, originally as a Woman Leading Privacy Advisory Board Member and now involved as a Board Member to the IAPP Publications Advisory Board.
