Data Privacy Day is an internationally recognized celebration designed to raise awareness of information privacy and data protection and to promote privacy and data protection best practices. Each January, institutions across the globe host events to inspire individuals and organizations to become champions of privacy.
Kuma is proud to be a NCSA Privacy Champion demonstrating our commitment to privacy. Additionally, Kuma will be celebrating Data Privacy Day from coast to coast through by supporting events hosted by the County of Santa Clara (SCC) and the South Carolina Department of Administration’s (Admin) Enterprise Privacy Office (EPO).
Kuma’s CEO, Ray Kimble, will be on site in Silicon Valley to support the County of Santa Clara’s 2nd Annual Data Privacy Day event on January 29th. With the 2020 election around the corner, the SCC Privacy Office will host a panel of experts from government, private sector, and academia to discuss the impact of technology, privacy, and public trust on elections, in addition to consumer privacy legislation taking effect in California in 2020. The South Carolina Admin EPO will host its Data Privacy Day Seminar on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2020 from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the South Carolina Department of Archives and History’s Auditorium, located at 8301 Parklane Road, Columbia, S.C. 29223.
This event is free to the public and is intended to educate and empower privacy and security liaisons with information regarding privacy-related issues and will feature agency experts discussing a wide range of current and future privacy issues. Kuma has worked closely with different state agencies, ensuring third-party adherence to privacy policies and assisting agencies in strategizing and operationalizing their privacy program, incident management, and breach response, and directing the data vetting process.
